Jackson.... Easily, Jackson.

North Baton Rouge is Beverly Hills compared to South Jackson.

They haver water mains break on a weekly basis and if the water makes it to your house it will stain your white laundry.

Columbia has gotten a LOT better, inspite of the blathering idiots that we call mayor and city councilmen. If they will ever get their shite together on the Bull Street development then it could be a big boost for the city, culturally speaking. Closing down Gonzales Gardens was also a big step in the right direction.

Naw baw. Montgomery is a pile of shite. BR and Jackson don't even come close to how bad Montgomery is.

10 years ago maybe. Not today.

Yeah, I mean, if BR wants to continue attracting businesses to move here then they need to get these infrastructure improvements going sooner than later.

It has, but not as much as Montgomery.

I spent three months in Richmond, VA for work, at least coming home on some weekends last summer. Some of the areas were really nice. Downtown didn't seem too bad. There were some areas that were pretty shady. To be honest, I couldn't say either way if it was better than Baton Rouge or not. Most of the time I was near where the city meets Chesterfield County. Midlothian Turnpike seemed more or less like Florida Blvd. Except it actually got nicer the further you got away from the city.

Fun part was discovering all the damn toll roads in the area and nobody warned me the first week I spent there.

I agree. The major state and federal arteries need investment. I-10 and Airline in the city were designed when the metro area was home to about 100,000 people. It's closer to 850,000 now.

Frankfort, KY is not that bad...it is just small. Hell, at least you have Buffalo Trace and Pappy there (at least that is something it has going for it).

Jackson has to be the worst. I think even Shreveport, Beaumont, and Montgomery are better towns (I realize not all of those are capital cities).

I honestly would not put Baton Rouge, Little Rock, or even Montgomery at the same level as Jackson. IMO Baton Rouge and Little Rock aren't bad, and have seen a lot of improvements in the past 10-15 years.

Sacramento is a huge dusty shithole as are most cities in the central valley.

Sacramento isn't that great, but it doesn't belong anywhere close to a list with Baton Rouge and Jackson. The downtown is completely unimpressive, but plenty of the city is nice. Land Park, East Sac., etc... Lots of beautiful trees.

Would be nice. And a new bridge seems to be at the top of the agenda for BR in 2017.
