Canes was never staying in Baton Rouge, no matter the political climate. They wanted to expand major in the DFW area (which they did), and needed to be in a major metro area to hire better executive talent to help them grow to 1k+ stores worldwide (which they also did).

I’m surprised there’s was a vacant office building there.

Are you kidding? Texas doesn’t believe in there being a random field. Everything has to be concrete and buildings. Many of which are vacant.

I get why it can't be us but damn 1000 jobs like this would be huge for Baton Rouge

Jindal was our chance but someone told him to run for president

He didn't need anybody to tell him. He may have had some people encouraging him but he had the idea all on his own, and he had it a long time before anybody had ever heard of him.

To their credit, we really need to clean those two cities up and build up their infrastructure.

Is it the infrastructure though?

It’s the terrible public schools holding us back. It’s hard to recruit good corporate employees when they realize they’re going to have to shell out $10k-$15k per kid per year for a decent education.

At that level of talent, they’ll be paying for private schools no matter what metro they’re in, let’s be real.

Half of it is a company bringing 1,000 jobs to a market.

The other half is the market having and/or attracting enough qualified workers to support those jobs.

It takes two to tango.

What about him allowing Louisiana residents to get RAPED by insurance companies?? Instead, he recently allowed rates to increase at will and no longer needing approval from the LA Legislature

I love when idiots pretend to understand insurance.

Aren't they redeveloping the old Perot campus? I haven't been in that area since 2019.

I worked on that campus for the HP Enterprise /CSC merger into DXC - it’s a cool building but felt like you were transported into the 90s in there.

It would be really cool to see what canes would do with it.

This may be the biggest issue here. This thread is about Canes but Baton Rouge’s issues apply to all the other industries in the area as well.

Just reading this thread, I’ve seen the following issues raised:

- Public school system
- Infrastructure
- State constitution
- Population lacking higher education

These are pretty serious problems

Ate at the one on camp lejeune and it was bland as hell. Tasted like an 18 year old white girl named Tanya cooked the chicken with no seasoning. Zaxbys for tenders. BO for a 2 breast dinner.

Have to admit got canes this past weekend and the tendas were pretty large. It was legit, still too expensive compared to 4+$ box in college

Jindal

What a disaster...

He can write all the Op-Ed pieces he wants for the WSJ, no one is taking him serious for any leadership position ever again.
