That's not a riddle. That's just an idiot who is terrible at math.

Ooooh, is this a riddle thread?

Here’s one

Cold we live in little shells,
Monsters fed we start to smell,
We always fall, sometimes we fly,
Those who eat us often die

What are we?

When does 50+20=10?

NEVER

This right here. frick this riddle. 50+20 on a clock is 1hr 10mins, 70mins, 1min 10secs, 70secs, or 1:10.

It is never “10”.

Pretty sure the dimes and nickels answer is the correct one.

I get the reasoning behind the hands on a clock, but really it's just _:10. If it's midnight then 50 plus 20 is 1:10, you wouldn't say "10"

Riddles aren’t literal. They aren’t meant to be.

You can’t just say “it doesn’t” and act like you solved the riddle.

Is it dog years?

1 year is 7 dog years.
50 + 20 is 70.
70 = 10 dog years

Another "riddle" that starts with an incorrect statement (50+20=10) that you need to modify to make it work. So, 50x+10y=10 is the actual problem which has infinite answers since we have one equation and two variables.

The fun answer is 50 dimes and 20 quarters (50*.1+20*.25=10), but x and y could be set to a bunch of different values to total 10. Ex. (50*.01+20*.475=10)

Some riddles work. 50+20 does not. It starts with a simple conventional mathematical equation, and the solution requires the answerer to ignore dimensional analysis to “solve”.

The answer is therefore also 50 pairs of socks + 20 socks = 10 dozen socks.

I believe that riddle can be solved by vectors, but I'm too far past my college mathematics to attempt that.
