My question as well.
I have heard that the 100k mileage service on a turbo engine (the turbo itself or both turbos if applicable) is very expensive. So much so that some owners sell the car before that expense comes. And the used car sales guys have a tough time selling those cars that are close to 100k, because potential buyers know that this service cost will fall on them very shortly in their ownership period.

That 570 is a tank and really its in the same breath as the Land Cruiser quality and abilities. I had a 2004 Limited 4Runner V8 4.7 liter and that bitch owned the road. Wish I liked the Lexus 460's models but just can't like them for some reason.

My 22 year old Landcruiser is not as fine or modern as your LX 570 (notice the telescoping radio antennae on the right front fender

I have a Lexus ‘99 RX300, 1st generation SUV closing in on 270k with no issues. Bulletproof.

Just get a Honda Accord and forget about it. Just got mine serviced at 120,000 miles and the serpentine belt is still fine. Gets 40mpg and runs like a Swiss watch. You aren’t going to pull any pussy but that’s actually another cost saving benefit.

Try an Acura. The fit/finish may be slightly below Lexus, but still above Toyota, and at a great price point for what you get. You’ll get the drivability you’re looking for. The only major issue I’ve had with Honda’s/Acura’s has been transmissions, but any issues were during the warranty period.

If Lexus had better styling they’d probably put some of the German brands out of business in smaller markets.
But instead they have the hideous predator grill, and Mercedes can justify a stand alone dealership in every second rate suburb.

I’m with this guy. 148k and Had it’s first repair last week, bearings in the front hub assembly were starting to make noise. $1k spent, but now it’s runs quiet as a mouse again.
Oh, no pussy for me either but I still seem to blow money chasing women, just harder to catch them in an Accord.

Lexus is very reliable but I would never pay the extra for a Lexus that is really not much different than a Toyota, just get the Toyota for the same longevity. There are a whole bunch of MBs & Toyotas out there with 200K plus on them.

Reliability wise no. But if the OP is looking for drivability and an upgraded interior, along with better than German reliability, the Acura is above Toyota. Depends on his priorities.

This is where Mercedes shines. Much tighter handling than anything I have ever driven. Every other brand I have driven/owned is soft and squishy comparably. I think BMW may be similar? But I hear from BMW mechanics that they are designed to need constant fine tuning.
