Can you be Catholic without agreeing with the pope?

Let’s say you are a devout Catholic but don’t agree with the popes beliefs on homosexuality. Would you still be a Catholic if you denounce the pope and stop following him?
ETA: I’m not Catholic, I’m just trying to find out what the difference is between a Catholic who disagrees with the pope and his doctrine or those of the cardinals and bishops below him, and a Protestant. Say Lutheran or Calvinism.

The pope is a man. Some are more devout and religious than others.
This one is secular and woke. I don't follow the leftist pope when he talks about global warming or throwing open our borders to all comers.

Wouldn’t that be protesting?
Wouldn’t that make you a Protestant?

You in the closet?

The men that get appointed to lead the church don't make the church. I am a Catholic and don't believe a lot of the shite they tell us. Plus the doctrines have changed throughout my life. Some I believe, some I don't. Cafeteria Catholic? I don't care. I'm Catholic and I'll never not be Catholic.

100% yea.
He is just a man.
He is just a man.

It depends.
The Pope’s infallible teachings have been extremely rarely used.
Your example of homosexuality is a non-negotiable in the church, not because of the Pope’s teachings but Jesus’. So is being a womanizing serial frick boy.
Jesus’ teachings on sex is actually pretty clear.

I don't think it works like that. Fill in the blank.

This is why people created Protestantism. People were tired of having to follow mans opinions for their religion.

Yes. The pope is not God.

catholics probably need their own pope in the states
he is so far removed from the realities of catholicism in the USA and he's out of touch with the issues that have impacted the Catholic church here
maybe none of these scandals reached the level they did had you had better leadership closer to your congregations and not a world away

What's the Pope's beliefs on homosexuality?

You know you can disagree with him without denouncing him right?

Correct - the pope has personal opinions that you can disagree with. the church has doctrine that you can also disagree with but that would mean you're not in good standing with the church.

Can you be Catholic without agreeing with the pope?
<--- Catholic
ETA:
Pope's opinion: I am not a fan of the USA's border policy. (You can disagree, it's ok)
Pope's teaching: Muslims share in our salvation. (If you disagree, not good, you're denying church teaching)

Your question is certainly a valid one.
Seems to me the larger question is, If I don’t belong everything that The Church teaches, am I Catholic?
My devout Catholic father in law told me “it’s not up to us to decide what we like about The Church, it’s our job to follow.”
I’m not Catholic and never have been, but I find the question very interesting, and will follow along out of curiosity.
