I would think they are catering to their audience. J.K. Rowlings is a woman dumbass.

Cretins like OP are the reason writers like LM Montgomery had to obfuscate their gender

You don't appreciate women writers because you're part of the patriarchy

Receptionist: How do you write women so well?
Melvin Udall: I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability.

I'm reading a book of Eudora Wetly's short stories, she was a master of that art form. Check her out.

Annie Proulx too. A lot of her stories and novels are set in remote places like rural Canada and the U.S. West, Wyoming in particular. She writes about tough people, tough times and she does it well.

She wrote Brokeback Mountain, so if you're uncomfortable buying or checking out one of her books, just say it's for a friend. It's a great story, first appeared in the New Yorker years ago.

Dude, To Kill A Mockingbird is universally beloved.

And Unbroken is my favorite book of all time probably.

You're just wrong here.

Only someone with a small penis and a large amount of insecurity would start a thread like this.

Harper Lee wrote one really good one. Emily Dickinson if you're some kinda poetry fig. And I always enjoyed Anne Rice for mindless entertainment.

Other than those, not really.

Oh and Ayn Rand if you are an a-hole and have a very loose definition of "woman".
