Yes, M/TV board...I've seen commercials discussed here before and there's a lot more traffic. So here we are.
I know I'm not the only one that gets pissed at these right? When MM first started doing the lincoln commercials, they at least made a *little* more sense. Hes' off driving along the coast, talking about freedom and doing what you want and blah blah, so hey, if you have a lincoln you can have freedom to. Ok..it's a stretch but I can buy it.
these new ones are totally off the rails. He's driving down an empty highway listening ot jazz and flashes back to earlier in the night where he went to his buddy's house and hugged him. "The feeling stays with you". Dafuq lincoln? How is this going to sell a car?
Then this week I recently saw the sequel. What happened after the hug. He's playing cards with his fancy arse friends. Guess what? MM, cool as a cucumber, has a straight flush. Game over bitches. Smirk. "The feeling stays with you". Aw man I remember that time I won at poker and I was happy, guess I need a lincoln.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Is President Lincoln in the commercials?
Who is MM? This isn't twitter. You can fully express yourself.
ETA: Terrible fricking thread. Might the the worst of today.

I think they are basically a joke/troll at this point.

No going to chase old ghosts....just want to see where I've been, where I'm at...where I'm going?

Some people make lots of money and get famous despite no discernible intelligence or talent. Mi-cona-hey is one of them.

Not totally sure I agree there. He's not a bad actor and he seems like a pretty cool likeable dude that I'd like to have a beer with IRL.
I just don't understand how him going to hoity toity party with his rich friends is supposed to get people to buy a lincoln. Seems like the "feeling stays with you" aspect should be someone doing cool/fun stuff IN a lincoln. MM could go to a fancy jazz and poker party in any vehicle.

Did you remember the commercial? Are you talking about the brand with others? They commercials make zero sense now but seems like their marketing team is pretty effective then honestly...

Oh you're one of those huh?
Believe it or not, not all advertising is good advertising. Just because a company has me remembering their name doesn't mean its' "worked" or is effective. I mean, if people are trashing and shite talking your brand does the company win?
Here's another example. There's a company called Voya. I very clearly know the company name. I couldn't tell you what they do, it's either insurance/retirement/phone service I think..one of those. Anyways...the reason why I very clearly and vividly know their name is because their "jingle" (which is really just saying the name Voya, but in a song-y type way) is so indescribably annoying ot me that it's infuriating. I hate it. I despise that shite. So yes, I know the name of the company is Voya but I will never ever use their product (whatever it may be) and I will tell people like right here in this very post how awful their jingle is.
Yep, I'm sure mission accomplished for voya huh?
