Slidell is an atrocious shithole, but it's still the northshore. Hammond is just an atrocious shithole.

The Southshore delegation offers to trade Challmete or/and Marrero for Hammond.

They're packing them in like rats on Turnpike Road (LA 1077).

If the causeway is the fastest way to get where you are going from the south shore, you are going to the Northshore. If 55, Hammond. If 10, Slidell. The Northshore is in between.

The Northshore is a collection of smaller towns, Hammond and Slidell are big enough to just be called by their names. Northshore is just west ST Tammany.

Is it really on the shore at all though? It's northwest of the lake but so is Shreveport

I can see if you are running an errand to tangi parish, you could say I got to run to the Northshore. I do the same with the south shore. But when you say where you live, Hammond is not the Northshore. It's Hammond.

I told a guy I went to my parents over a holiday, that they lived on the Northshore. He said oh mine to...what part of town, I asked. He said Springfield. That's like 40 minutes away from mandeville. They don't share any schools, shopping, public offices, etc, there is no reason to group them together.

Doesn't stop everyone from the Northshore from flocking to Hammond to drop out of SLU.

Back in the 70's when I was growing up, St. Tammany was considered the Northshore. I think the media (wwl, wvue, etc) incorporated Washington and tangi parish into the Northshore based on their viewing area.

No we can't. The neighborhoods along 22 and south of 1-12 have essentially connected St Tammany with Tangipahoa. As long as thousands of Northshore people keep buying in Ponchatoula it's going to feel like the Northshore.

It is crazy how it has grown along Hwy 22.
