Because it’s a good job. $12-14 an hour for stocking shelves and unloading trucks. $10-12 for cashier/bagging.

Diddly, if you don't get a gig at Publix, try to get a job as a waiter's assistant/busboy at a nice restaurant. Pay attention and work hard, and by the time you're 21 you can be a bartender in whatever college town you're in. Good money and lots of pussy.

ETA: Okay, frick Publix if you're going to UGA. Follow my advice.

That looks like a response to an initial email or some kind of question you submitted, not a job application.

If I could pull down 100k bagging groceries or stocking daily goods I’d be doing it right now.

Pretty solid advice. You'll have fun working at restaurants, especially if there are a bunch of other college students working there. Plenty of booze, drugs, and chicks that like to party. The whole restaurant/bar worker world is pretty interesting and fun, but be careful.

Id get up to athens in the early summer and get a job now, when they can be had. puts you in a good spot to be a bar back just in time for football season...

Barbacking in a busy college bar is hell. If you can do that well, you can handle a whooole lot of shite that comes your way later in life.
