why are you applying for a job at Publix?

Because it’s a good job. $12-14 an hour for stocking shelves and unloading trucks. $10-12 for cashier/bagging.

Good on you. There's nothing wrong w/ working a shoulders down job when you're young.

Since you're going to U6A, the one in Watkisnville at Mars Hill & Hog Mtn isn't too far from campus. The one off Atlanta Hwy wasn't too bad either.

Best of luck. I wish more people your age were willing to take action & ask questions when they don't understand something.

To be clear there are probably legitimate full time positions at publix people can apply for. Not every single person who works there is a cashier or janitor. Grocery stores are big business.

Diddly, if you don't get a gig at Publix, try to get a job as a waiter's assistant/busboy at a nice restaurant. Pay attention and work hard, and by the time you're 21 you can be a bartender in whatever college town you're in. Good money and lots of pussy.

This seems like good advice. Thanks

Don't forget to wear a Jameis Winston jersey to your interview.

I’ll ask the guys who make my username if we are hiring.

Kidding aside, I’ll third the advice given about working as a busboy, server at a restaurant.

We spent a couple nights there on a vacation, and I've gotta say, the number of beautiful women was staggering.

I have a friend who started as a cashier at Publix. He later was a department manager (Dairy and Meat). He did the dept manager thing for a while and made a comfortable living. A couple years ago he got a job managing an entire store in a Birmingham suburb and does very well for himself.

He put in a shitload of work with some crazy hours for a long time. But they eventually rewarded his dedication. Publix seems like a pretty good place to work looking from the outside in.
