You're not wrong. For all the idiots bashing Baton Rouge that doesn't negate the OP's statements. Austin is overrated as frick. Lots of homos and skinny jean wearing pussies like it though so you should have expected a lot of ridicule on this board.
Austin is like the rest of Texas: full of obnoxious people who feel the need to tell you how awesome they are and how great their town is. seems like if it's really that great, you don't have to tell everyone. but again the whole state of Texas is a shithole of arrogance

I haven’t agreed with most of what you wrote, but this is way too much. I would take all the hipsters in Austin over what populates south beach. I interact and work with people from all over the country almost daily. Very little worse than the people in and around Miami.
Most of them remind me of a typical DMV employee who thinks you owe them something. South Beach is at its best a tourist trap.
My guess is you threw in Vegas and South Beach just to hide the fact you never really left New Orleans before because South Beach is pretty awful compared to Austin.
