Who's protecting the horses from all those weaves?
These companies go to the Santa Anita race track in California and just wait for the next one to drop.
Prices might go down on weaves this year they way they are dropping over there.

Absolutely not true. Clean hair actually locks faster. Black hair will naturally lock if it’s not combed but most black folks don’t start dreads that way.

There is a weave and dred store near my office - at lot of these "natural" hairstyles are store bought.

The reverse discrimination cases will be interesting.

The CROWN Act, which passed the state Senate in April and could be voted on in the state Assembly as soon as Thursday, would outlaw policies that punish black employees and students for their hairstyles. Supporters say the bill’s acronym reflects its intention: creating a respectful and open workplace for natural hair.

Yeah no. FWIW, I worked at a predominantly black barber college for 6 years while in HS and college breaks. If someone is washing their hair daily, it will not lock in dreads. you might eventually get a few giant masses or knots if you dont brush at all, but any hair does that. After its locked though wash away

Are they really being discriminated against for natural hairstyles? If it's a dress policy they don't agree with couldn't they just find a place that allows whatever hairstyle they want to do?

I want a video camera on the first guy allowed by this law to operate a lathe wearing those 3 foot long braided hair with all those beaded things one the ends.

Strange. I guess I've never seen only black people have a certain dress code for work. Lots of places have rules on hair length and facial hair length for men.
And don't get me started on women, how many of them actually wear their natural hair? Same goes for all races. Color of hair, length of hair. Come on.

Just wear your hair professionally. It's not racism.

I'm just going to let you in on a thing called genetics. There are black women that legit just don't grow long hair. No matter what they do, it won't just lock. They add extensions and pay out the fricking arse for their hairdoo.
A male that can't grow it, well he shaves it or just rocks the sides.

Nope. The text of the bill

(b) “Race” is inclusive of traits historically associated with race, including, but not limited to, hair texture and protective hairstyles.
(c) “Protective hairstyles” includes, but is not limited to, such hairstyles as braids, locks, and twists.

Well shite, I used to braid my hair like Cobi Jones when I was younger. Neither of ours naturally grow that way.
