California mom fatally stabs family Pit Bull to stop its mauling her 1-year-old daughter

The family two pit bulls attacked tiny Ruby Cervantes without provocation at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday after the normally docile dogs were let into the house, the family told authorities. First one of the dogs ran into the kitchen and pounced, and seconds later, the other one followed suit, reported KTLA-TV.
“He had her by the leg and I had to get his teeth off of her,” the girl’s grandmother, Margaret Morales, told KTLA. “He bit my hand, and my hand’s pretty severely cut open.”
She described being awakened by screaming, and going into the kitchen to find her two daughters and son struggling with the dogs, one of whom was clamping down on Ruby’s leg. She stuck her hand between its jaws to pry them open.
“I stabbed him to get him off of my daughter. It was either him or my daughter, and I chose my daughter. I did what I had to do because he wouldn’t let go,” Jamie Morales told KTTV-TV. “I feel really bad, but I had to. I’m pretty sure anyone would have done it.”

I wonder if the Babylon Bee will do an article on a new trend of keeping pet Coyotes. "I just don't understand it. She was always the sweetest, coyote. Then, she ate our infant. Never saw that coming."

That fact this comes as a surprise to NO ONE shows how ridiculously common this is with these dogs.
Replace "pit bull" with "golden retriever" or "black lab" or "goldendoodle" and the public would be surprised.

Pitbulls are the greatest way to spot human trash
