No but those two plus San Diego and Silicon Valley make up a huge percentage of the state’s population, hence the amount of attention paid to it.
As far as most people are concerned, Illinois is Chicago and NY State is NY City because those large population centers drown out everyone else.

Neighborhood groups should form brush clearing committees and spend a week or so just prior to burn season and clear the brush that threatens their neighborhoods and create an island of safety. I’m sure there are many neighborhoods that already do this, we just hear about the ones that are not proactive.
