Having shitty parents can screw up your life. Unfortunately there are a bunch of woke assholes raising little woke assholes.

It’s natural. White people are going to relate more to white people and black people to black people
I don’t know, Will Smith rode the backs of white fans to becoming a multi millionaire with Fresh Prince

I would say growing up in the 90s attending a lily white private school, 2/3 most popular shows amongst us were almost all black casts

Fresh prince
Saved by the bell
Family matters

Once again, noone is saying white people wont or cant embrace a character because he is black. If you cant accept that if u make an ensemble cast and show it to 20 million white kids, a certain percentage will be drawn more to the white character than the black one, with all things being the same, then you cant accept reality

Everyone’s racist and out to get him, yet he’s able to smooch on a white ginger girl throughout the entire series.

White Progressives are killing this country.

I really just don’t think that’s necessarily true. Kids will be drawn to the situational identity of the character more so than the color of their skin. Hence why family matters and fresh prince had huge white crowds maybe more so than black audiences. Yes they were black characters, but their life situations were still common themes of white kids across America

No shows like Martin and such? Yeh those aren’t drawing in white viewers compared to the others mentioned

And it’s not just about enjoying the product. It’s about interest in their life outside of film. And there are stars that commercially transcend race to a certain degree. The kid from Stranger Things unfortunately isn’t one of them.

You’re referencing the product more than the people themselves. I think there is a distinction. I liked Family matters more than Saved By The Bell honestly. I’d get a bigger kick out of meeting the cast of Saved By the Bell though.

I’m a 34 year old male so it’s not really applicable I’m just imagining a younger version of myself.

Because I don’t think kids will care about the color of the characters skin. They care about the situations the characters are put in and the identity of the said character and can they relate

Now adults? Yes I think adults are different and more perceptive about relating to the actual race of the character

But for kids? If you don’t reply make their race something to harp on in the show, it isn’t really an issue

The delusional false narrative spreads like wildfire and feeds itself. When everyone constantly tells you any perceived shortcomings are because of your race, you attribute all shortcomings to unsubstantiated, nonsensical and delusional “racism.” I haven’t noticed a lot of other black actors, athletes, musicians, etc suffering from lack of celebrity, wealth, fandom, etc due to “racism.” Lots of white actors, athletes, musicians, make a lot less money and have less followers than their black counterparts. It really takes very minimal effort, very minimal critical thinking to expose the absurdity and lack of validity to these delusional claims. But that is how powerful the effect of persistent propaganda is, especially when it reinforces a preexisting worldview and offers an excuse for why an individual is not doing as well as someone else.

I remember reading a story one time about the woman who played Carl's mom/Rick's wife on Walking Dead. Her character was HATED on the show. Bad. I was into the show and hated the character too. She did a great job playing her.

Anyway, she stated in several interviews how rude many fans were to her at ComiCons, etc, because of her character. She didn't play the "female" card either. I was surprised.

What about all the millions of white kids that will never be on a hit tv show? Did his parents explain that? Or just go with because he's black, life will suck?

His character sucks.
So does his ginger GF’s character.

Max (the redhead girlfriend) is probably the best of the "child" actors (the ones that were cast in middle school in the beginning) on that show along with Millie Bobby Brown. They are all adults by now I think.

Never seemed to be one of the "major" characters anyway to me. Didn't his sister take his place because he was scared to step away from the basketball game that he was just gonna ride the bench anyway? His character was just not that strong to attract the attention. His sister's character probably got more attention, even as bad as the acting was.

This is typical black victim mentality. See something they don’t like or understand and default to it being racism.

He also forgets he had article in 2019 written about how he spearhead a few hashtags on social media.
