It actually makes a big difference IMO since Cal is located in liberal central and has always been full of liberal trash, UC-Irvine is in a Republican county and is only recently turning into a liberal trash school.

The title of the article doesn't read "Cal."
And it wasn't a general student body election. It was a vote by a 12 person legislative body. When Congress passes laws, we don't say "American citizens vote to..."

His comment about California was probably ignorant because I doubt he has lived there or been their long enough to know what it is really like. His views on race seem to be based on personal knowledge and I am sure he has had to be around and interact with black people his entire life so that would mean they are not ignorant.
