I would have understood more if the shots were fired when he first put his hands actually into his pockets. Showing some restraint at that point but not later when he posed less of a threat baffles me.

I completely believe that probably a majority of cops are not qualified for the jobs they have. Sick and tired of them raising my taxes to increase the number of cops our department has. I would live with raising the taxes and reducing the force but raising the pay to bring in more qualified people.

First of all, I'm gonna need more background here. What happened beforehand?

Secondly, why don't people just listen? They had to tell him 3 or 4 times to keep his hands up. He absolutely didn't deserve to be shot (at least from what the video shows), but what was he trying to accomplish by continually putting his hands down?

No one said it was an easy job, the reason these people are dead is because the police officer was in a shoot first, think later mind frame though.

well, when idiots realize that there's someone pointing a gun at them, maybe they should start listening and realizing that the slightest thing they may do that deviates from what the guy with the gun says, may result in them being shot.

Until police officers start educating high school kids more on what to do and what not to do when approached by officers, things like this will continue to happen.

Since when is "bad shite happens" been the narrative to these types of things? For frick's sake, we know he should have kept his hands up. That was a very bad idea. People are allowed to have bad ideas.

What happened in that video was murder. The guy stupidly putting his hands out to the side is almost irrelevant. Or it should have been.

Dispatcher mistakenly put a call out for a possibly armed robbery at a drug store, when it was only a stolen bike that was left unattended. This occurs in a not so safe neighborhood. Cops respond assuming possibly armed, trying to watch three suspects when one makes a move that given the context of the situation was perceived as a threat.

I don't know why everyone is so upset. It's just an illegal alien. They're not even really human.

I don't think most argue that it was just. I for one do not condone the use of lethal force for simply not complying with police orders. As a reasonable human being though I did read up on what occurred when i first saw the video this morning. Knowing what transpired and putting myself in the situation I can say that it is not as cut and dry a "bad cop" scenario as you seem to think it is. Blame does not just lie with the victim, but it also does not fall squarely on the cops either.

My thoughts exactly. He does put his hand down around his pocket in a pretty sudden movement. Thought he was toast right there. But holy shite, blew him to hell almost no reason. Deciding to shoot him when they did is mind blowing to me.

No doubt.

I don't think that's disputed either.

The bottom line. The penalty for not listening is not death. The penalty for calling a cop a dick is not death. I can't imagine what could have happened beforehand that could change how the shooting was not justified. It can only provide blathering points to try to put the cops in a good light.

And the reason all of these cops and a good number of the rest need to be fired. Pay them more and hire ones that 1. can transmit the right information and 2. aren't going to view non-life threatening situations as life threatening.

He brought his hat down, which would have hidden his other hand from the cops view, he then produces the hand with the index and middle finger together.

Blame goes to Dispatcher, suspect, and the cops. None are absolved of blame in this situation.

Is this real life? Bet he had his toes crossed too. Hey how was his dick hangin'?

His index and middle fingers were together? Yeah, they tend to touch sometimes.

Hold on there, U.S. soldiers deal with stricter ROE's on a daily basis. The different is that the soldier will spend the rest of his life in prison if he makes the wrong choice.
