Great numbers for the base car, Z06 and ZR1/Zora will be flat out disgusting.

Among the interesting stats, the booklet shows the Corvette with a quarter-mile time of 11.3 seconds at 121 miles per hour. For context, GM's official quarter-mile estimate for the C7 Corvette with the Z51 package was 12 seconds at 119 mph, the C7 Z06 was listed at 10.95 seconds at 127 mph, and the C7 ZR1 did the quarter in 10.6 seconds at 134 mph.

quote:

figures are broken out for the entry model and the Z51 package: 0 to 60 mph takes 3.0 seconds with the entry-level model, 2.9 seconds with the Z51 package. The 2019 Corvette with the Z51 package took 3.8 seconds to reach 60 mph, the C7 Corvette Z06 with the eight-speed automatic and Z07 package took 2.95 seconds, and the the C7 Corvette ZR1 needed 2.85 seconds.

11.3 for the base car is just absurd.

Yea, kinda bummed that i'm right at the point in my life that a 2 seat sports car is something that will have to wait for about 10 more years.

Was going to make a thread on this but forgot:

Supposedly there was a leak somewhere and the Z06 is getting a flat-plane crank and two turbos.

Damn, GM just trying to crush Ferrari and Porsche's dreams...

If the "Lexus" interior comment has some truth, wow.

The Mustang has been the best selling sports car in much of Europe for a few years now ( LINK). The main reason buyers give is "Cheap horsepower and higher quality than previous American entries. What's not to like?"

Now I can see the Corvette selling like hotcakes over there, seeing as how it can go toe to toe with Lambos, Ferraris, and whatever else is on the road that costs 5-10 times more.

Performance for the dollar is unmatched!

I am a tad disappointed at the 1/4 time as I had predicted it as about 1/2 a second faster in one of the earlier threads. Being a little portly is probably the cause. I bet the 10 speed on the horizon will be able to produce a high 10s 1/4.

For me all of that is beside the point, all I wanna see is the Z06 'Ring times. That will be the metric that puts it in its rightful place in the pantheon of supercars. Sub 6:50 should be the mark but it takes a whale of a car to get there.
