Buying a handgun/wrong address on your license

Is this a problem? I have not bought a gun since 08, so I don't remember much about the paperwork process.
The address on my license is old as dirt. I tried to change it a year ago at an express DMV, but the bastards wanted 2 pieces of mail or something...I had nothing...lol
If I write down an old address, will I get into trouble?
I will hang up and listen. Thanks!

Do you live in a van down by the river?
Getting a DL address changed is about the easiest government transaction there is.
This one is on you.

wasn't a problem for me in Mississippi. I told the FFL when I got there that I had a new address and my license wasn't up to date, he still transferred me the firearm
call the DMV and ask them what you need to bring in. Usually when you're changing addresses within the state they just require one utility bill or pay stub. If you've moved from out of state, at least in Mississippi, they require a fricking DNA sample and 28 different documents with your name and address

Do not lie about anything on any paperwork when purchasing a gun.

Address on license doesnt matter

The form 4473 asks for current address. If you lie you have committed a crime. It's up to you if you want to chance it.

I believe lying on the paperwork is a felony. I imagine the form address differing from your id will get you delayed but should prevent you from buying it.

So, just go to the express DMV with a power and a water bill and update your address before you go to buy the gun, stupid.
This is OT intelligence unabashedly on display for all to see. Sometimes you people make the Rant look like fricking Mensa.

Avoid any potential issues and just go back to the express DMV place and change the address on your license. Took me less than 10 minutes to get a new license with the address updated last time I moved.

It can be, but I've gotten around it with a dealer who knew me. Gave him some utility bills for my current addy.
Alternatively, if you're feeling like a risk-taker, you could fill out the form with the same address that's on your license.

i just got my registration out of my car showing my current address and they were ok with it

That's a bold strategy considering it is a 10 year / $100k fine federal felony to put inaccurate info on a 4473.

I was turned down one time because my address wasn't current. You can just say it's current and leave with a gun.
