Let me guess. The league, teams, or ball park owners do not have liability insurance to cover damage to his truck parked at his work site. They are expecting him to file it on his own insurance or pay out of his own pocket to fix it.
I would flood the field as well. The ball park needs to build a taller wall on the side where the fire department is located.
His truck wasn't parked in the ball parks parking lot.

My dad, who was a fireman when I was younger, told me stories of bullshite that some other firemen would do, like this one guy who took a pair of women's panties, blew his nose in it and then wrapped an opened condom package wrapped in the panties and then put on the passenger side of some other fireman's car for his wife to find. Apparently, from my dad's retelling of the incident the guy's wife threatened divorced and it caused a lot of problems. The fire chief had to move the two men to work at different stations after that.
Jesus, that's why it's best to keep FFs busy, or the ones who cause drama, put them on a busy truck. No time for drama when busy. That's low down stuff what that guy did.

It's a given the first responder hero was an a-hole and should be be shite-canned.
However, a lot of this could have been alleviated by the player who hit the truck immediately going over to the firehouse when it happened to notify the owner and make good. Baseball bros can be immature meatheads, too.

What a fricking dumb arse… did he think they hit his truck on purpose?
Surely he gets some kind of suspensión or fired from his department for wasting city water like that and not representing his department in a professional manner.

Great behavior from a first responder who is supposed to be able to keep his cool.
Terminate him.
Terminate him.

Volunteer firemen > career ones
I know volunteer fireman are needed and there are some good guys who volunteer fireman, but I know there used to be a stereotype of them when i was growing up.
In fact, there was this man who was a volunteer fireman who lived in the neighborhood next to mine. I say man, I was young, but I think he was in his late teens and I guess throughout his early 20s during this time, he lived with his parents at the time.. Anyway, he was the stereotypical VF (I remember hearing older people saying this at least), but if he was at home when there was a fire or wreck, it didn't matter how far away it was for him, he would fly down the road. He had the .. I called it "police light".. on the dashboard.
He would fly through stop signs.. Or as people would say "he drove like a bat out of hell". He actually hit and killed someone's dog once.. And evidently, when he got to the sites he didn't really do anything. I remember people joking about how he was good at getting to the scene and telling the injured someone was coming, but being a volunteer fireman gave him a sense of arrogance that was associate with other volunteer fireman (mostly the younger ones). The were "dipshits", but in comparison to full time fireman, the full timers seemed pretty cool. But that might be different on job sites.

"first responders" are annoying as frick these days. They want special status, and if you as a laymen try to do their job, they get pissy.
Wierd how some of them make a job their entire identity, same with military.

Pretty much. Nothing against individual firefighters, but these are just general trends I've picked up on...
Be proud of what you do, but dont make it cult-ish.

Biggest conflicts come in fire house. Who's cooking today? I'm tired of chicken every meal, etc.
