I hope you realize traffic on LA 1 in WBR sucks from all the people trying to get into Baton Rouge because they don't have shite in WBR. Have fun with that.

JBE and the Louisiana tax structure makes it very difficult for companies to invest in Louisiana.
Every expansion or new manufacturing my company has done since JBE has been in office has all been in Texas.

These expansions bring lots of people which increases sales tax revenue and also some of the expansion (materials used on the project and rentals used on the project)

You’re assuming they are buying the materials in Lousiana or even building parts of the expansion here

why is this being downvoted?

EXXON leaving will be the final nail in the coffin for Baton Rouge and LSU.

Jindal sucked at many things.........MANY things, but he did bring jobs and industry to the state.

JBE will fix that though.

This threat coupled with all of the Zachary businesses leaving town or downsizing paints an awfully bleak picture for East Baton Rouge parish and Louisiana business climate right now.

Offer tax breaks and get jobs.

Or don’t offer tax breaks and get nothing.

Either way you weren’t collecting those taxes.

You can't be this stupid can you?

So when a company (especially one like Exxon) packs up and moves to a new city because they get better tax incentives what happens to the employees who worked there?

Those people buy: gas(Taxed), homes(Taxed), goods(taxed), have income(taxed) so how in the hell is the government not getting anything from a company located in its city?

The ONLY way a government is not getting anything is if: it's a state worker or people have no jobs because in both options the state pays more than it gets back.

One day the golden goose will be gone. Can you imagine the EBR school system without Exxon tax money?

EBR's retarded government entities will find a way to chase Exxon away. They and their allies have already made relocation/closure a very easy decision for some businesses, to the detriment of parish residents.

Jesus H Christ... I hope they do expand in Texas. I can't wait to see how Together Baton Rouge tries to spin losing the expansion.

Jindal spending his last term running for President and Vitter screwing his wife are going to take it's toll on Louisiana for the foreseeable future.
