My next purchase. Simple, but nice. Can dress them up a bit, but not seem overly dressy in the business casual setting.

This man speaks the truth

Alden are the best shoes in the price range. I can help you with sizing if you are interested in a pair. I have 4 pairs right now and probably will not buy another brand of dress shoes.

I also just want to talk about Cole Haan. Has really gone to shite lately. Can't get a hard sole anymore, rarely if so.

Any shoe with soft rubber sole will wear through in a year with moderate use. Their hard rubber sole isn't bad. It's usually the substitution for hard sole.

I really like those but I would get them in the Walnut Burnished Calf

But they are too similar to the 5th Avenue so I would never buy them

I just bought two more pairs of Magnanni. The double monk that someone posted earlier in this thread and a black wingtip. Absolutely classic shoes and they are some of the best fashion forward shoes on the market for the price and quality.

AE is an awesome brand but they are more American styling. I have two pairs of AE and they are terrific. I do have issues with the soles wearing out on one of them though. They are definitely some of the more comfortable shoes I own.

I always go back to Magnanni. $300/pair is my limit right now and until I am willing to drop $550/pair to get a.testoni or Ferrgamos. They are stylish, comfortable and well built (very high quality materials).

I have the double monk, the alino, and some other kind. I freaking love those shoes. I wear them more than my AE's.
