Searched and didn't see it posted. The passenger FAFO. The kid probably would have just got off at his stop if nothing else happened, but maybe not and once he pulled his gun he showed that if not that day, he would have seriously hurt or killed someone soon.

CATS said all operators receive de-escalation training to “appropriately handle contentious situations with passengers” and all buses have “three methods for operators to communicate during emergencies.”

CATS said Fullard did not use any of the three methods – radio and two different alarm systems – and instead fired his weapon.

RATP Dev, the company that employs bus operators, has a policy that prohibits drivers from having a weapon on them while on duty.

“As of today, it is our understanding that RATP Dev has concluded the termination process for Mr. Fullard,” CATS said.

Oh, word? You're saying he didn't try using his radio or setting off multiple alarms as a passenger was POINTING A frickING GUN AT HIM????

What the frick is wrong with companies like these...all dangerous/emergency situations are not the same. I'm sure the contentious, armed rider would've just stood there quietly while the driver tried radioing that he needed help or triggering alarm after alarm.

Idiots. Good for him for standing up to thug pieces of shite like this...Lord knows his local government won't.
I hope he sues and wins bigly.

No shite he fired his weapon. He'd probably be dead otherwise. They want him to get on the radio with a violent criminal pointing a gun at him. They blame the bus driver instead of the criminal.

The driver should have accepted his death peacefully.

Yep, he’d still have a job.

Eh I get the idea, but damn he was firing wildly in the direction of those innocent riders.

Important to note that another Charlotte bus driver was murdered on the job last year. Dangerous job.

I don't. I watch the video, but didn't read whether or not his job allowed him to carry, but showing the element he has to deal with he is obviously aware that he has to protect himself and that's exactly what he did.

Dude is just doing his job and he has to deal with people pulling out guns. frick that, I don't get why he was fired.

It's all in the article. According to the company, drivers are "trained to de-escalate," follow certain emergency procedures, and are prohibited being armed.
