The are encouraged to do it to increase profits. Up-sizing you from a small to a medium costs BK 5 cents while charging you 60.

Went to Burger King today for the first time in about four years. Ordered a double whopper : no drink or fries. Ate the sandwich and within three minutes, I got a severe headache that is still not going away. This Burger King location is in Kenner , La. Excedrin isn't helping.

If you don't eat at Burger King, you don't have to contemplate these philosophical mysteries.

Scruffy orders small since it is now the size of what a medium used to be.

Medium is now a large.

Large is a bucket.

I’m so glad I don’t notice or worry myself with shite like this. Stop eating Burger King if it pisses you off, the place is awful anyways

I have no idea what I’m talking about but I’m willing to bet it costs Burger King fractions of cent

This isn't sketchy at all in my opinion. There's plenty of places that employ the same or similar tactics. It's pretty much the same thing as you get a free trial but they start charging you after the trial unless you manually cancel. The default meal is a medium, if you don't want that express that you don't.

The employees get to keep their jobs. That's the incentive.
