Bunker spinoff: time traveler/bunker inhabitant from 1994

So, the movie “Blast from the Past” turns 20 years old this year. I was thinking about the premise: someone raised in a bunker for 35 years is suddenly experiencing life in the “future”. Brendon Fraser plays a perfect fish out of water who is utterly baffled by how society has changed since 1964.
How would someone living in 1994 react to traveling to the present day? I would argue that they would think smart phones and uber are fascinating, but would otherwise be shocked at how everything looks the same.

True, but I thought 25 years would be more interesting for the thread. A ton changed in the world between 84 and 94, not so much since it seems like.

They would take one look at the shite-show that is social media and our culture in general and go back to their bunker and lock the door.

I've wondered if a teen from today went back to the mid 80s, Back to the Future style, would they be as surprised as Marty was by the world of 1955?

Internet was not nearly as accessible and people were still paying for it by the hour for the most part. I think someone from 94 would be pretty shocked at how much things have changed with how dependent we have gotten with it.

No smart phones would make it a completely different world to them

The internet and cell phones weren’t anywhere near a daily thing in 94. People didn’t get offended or butt hurt at the drop of a hat and the over powering stupidity of social media didn’t exist at all.

Yes. I tell my two teenagers stories from the the 80's when I was a kid and they look at me in wide-eyed amazement.

They’d get one whiff of SJW culture and head straight back into the bunker and lock it up tight.
