What exactly is direct buy?

It's a shopping club. Expensive to join, but I made my membership fee back on the first framing materials I bought. You can buy everything to build a house except the concrete. I'm using my savings to put nicer stuff in my house. If you're interested, post your email and i'll tell you more about it.

I'm looking to set up a media hub in my next house. But I thought each box had to have coax. Can you provide a link on doing a media hub and setting this all up. TIA

I have Dish Network Hopper and it requires a coax to every box. Don't know about DirectTV.

Satellite requires dedicated coax for each receiver. Cable can be split in media closet.

All periphery is housed in the closet. I ran 2 CAT6e runs to each TV location for redundancy and PIP. Ran 4 runs to Living room TV (because I have ADD and am intrigued by watching 4 shows/games at once).

CAT 6e carries converted IR to media closet, and HDMI back to center.

Here is the Matrix I'm ordering

Buddy of mine is building out the media server. In my case it will be a 4 TB machine with 2 HDMI outs. Once the xBoxOne updates for external drives are released, I'll slave it to the machine as well.

2)Never pay before the work is done. I did a few week by week payments with subs but never any deposits

to add to this, don't pay until you pass inspection. if you are building anywhere in louisiana, you will have to pull permits and have an city inspector look at it. if you pay your subs before your inspection and you fail, they aren't real quick to get out there to fix it. if you pay your labor, i.e. footing diggers, framers, etc., and it fails, good luck getting them back out period.

21 8 ft solid knotty pine v-groove arch top raised panels.

Local distributor quoted 17200. Picked em up in houston for 5000.

Local distributor does 10-12 houses with real wood doors/yr. guys in houston put 1000 wood doors out per month.

Depends on how much flooring you're doing..

You might save enough to make your membership costs a wash.

If all you have is flooring and it's not a lot of sq ft. You might be better off trying Simple floors or Lumber Liquidators.

They have a website you can order from. You can also call and they will help you get what you need. Like a personal shopper. What you buy can be shipped to your house, construction site, or their warehouse in Baton Rouge. Everything you buy is brand new, not reconditioned or anything like that. If it shows up damaged, you can have it replaced.

They have a bad rap because of the aggressive sales people that try to get you to go in. Those people are contracted out, not actual employees working there that you deal with. You can save major bucks on some things and marginal on others. That's why it's best to join if your building a house. I figure to save from 50 to 80 thousand on the house I'm building. That's with buying nicer stuff to go in it.
An example.. My wood floors are 8 1/4 wide. I'm saving enough money to pay for the installation.
