Satellite requires dedicated coax for each receiver. Cable can be split in media closet.

All periphery is housed in the closet. I ran 2 CAT6e runs to each TV location for redundancy and PIP. Ran 4 runs to Living room TV (because I have ADD and am intrigued by watching 4 shows/games at once).

CAT 6e carries converted IR to media closet, and HDMI back to center.

Here is the Matrix I'm ordering

Buddy of mine is building out the media server. In my case it will be a 4 TB machine with 2 HDMI outs. Once the xBoxOne updates for external drives are released, I'll slave it to the machine as well.

That's a lot of words.

I'm building a new home. I'm having a double gang box with 1/2 and 3/4 conduits to each that will stick out into the attic about 18" above the insulation. I can pull whatever I want, whenever I want. I will build a narrow "cable tray" around the attic perimeter attached to the rafter braces, then drop it into my laundry closet.

What's with all the reviews about not being able to cancel?

I'll third the Direct Buy in this thread. It's useless I you have little/marginal work to do, but on a large scale process, like building a home, the savings are amazing.

It's a large membership fee. People get caught up and join.. get home and realize that they won't be buying enough stuff to justify joining. Then they want a refund.

It makes sense to join building a house. Buying a few appliances here and there, not so much.

Well I'll be building within the year, so I'm going to look more into it. Thanks. I had to reset my email password but when I do I'll respond to your email.

Save my email.. if you have any questions before you start, I'll answer. I'll have a firm number on how much I saved for you then also.

Looks like between 4-8k per year depending on location. Not enough savings for just flooring. I have great sources on plumbing, lighting, appliances.

I will be looking into that door warehouse in Houston.

What's the 4-8k per year you talking about?

Initial membership covers 3 years.. then it's almost nothing every year after that.

It's on the low end of that to join.
