5.24% through my credit union, but I'm still not buying until it drops.

If you are dealing with their finance manager, just get up and leave. Don't even say anything. Just leave the dealership quietly.
The salesman will call in an hour or so wondering where you are. Tell them that the finance guy sucks and that you have to do some legwork to find a better deal before you buy.
The finance guy will call with better options about 20 minutes after that. If they aren't great....don't bother going back to the dealer until you talk to a credit union or do some research on the financing options yourself.

The deal is to finance it, split the incentive, then pay it off.
No need to even lie, tell them up front, and the finance co eill still do it, betting that you won't pay it off.
Credit scores these days are a lot of horseshite anyway, since they "recalculated" how they score you.
829 typically doesn't get you any better of a rate than 790.

They screwed up the Sequoia even worse. I'm pretty damn close to their target with that thing. The Sequoia should be right at the top of my list, but it's damn hard to find things about it that I actually like about it. In many ways, it's a big step back from the previous generation. I can't think of anything that it does well that several competitors don't do better.
IDK why they bothered with designing a half baked new vehicle for their full sized SUV. They should have just brought the LC300 to the US and killed the Sequoia name. The LC300 is also compromised from a passenger and interior room perspective (like the Sequoia), but at least it actually goes off road and doesn't look like the exterior was designed by a middle schooler.
The new poverty spec smaller 4 cylinder Land Cruiser for the US market is not cutting it for me.

Bragging that you are poor and cannot pay cash?

You'll ditch it well before the 60 month pay off.
I suspect so....she likes them though so what are you going to do? I can barely figure out how to drive the damned over-engineered fricker LOL...

Don’t pay 9% for depreciating asset.

You can get decent incentives on them if you look for it. Their lots are full of Tundras and Tacomas. Almost no new Camry or Grand Highlanders - those are very hot models.
I see no reason to get a Tundra over a Silverado, Sierra, F-150, or Ram. Toyota just isn't competitive with full sized trucks right now. The design isn't well fleshed out and the've lost their reliability and quality advantage by their own missteps with their powertrains. The new Tundra is every bit as disappointing from a cost and quality perspective as the American trucks.

Eh. I’ve had a new tundra since early 2023 and haven’t had any problems.

Toyota owned up to the problem and is fixing it.

It is frustrating that cars and trucks are becoming more complex in the name of government mandates.
In the 2000 Honda and Toyota produced some bulletproof motors.
Now cars turn off when you hit a red light.

Well no kidding, I’m paying 10K, luxury will not exist.
But it will work hard as a mule and get me where I need to go.

Also said the RAV4 will be hybrid only beginning 2026.
Yota must have a bunch of figs at the helm.
