The aunt or whoever the lady was handled this very calmly
My favorite part was when she asked the cop if the kid hurt anyone, his answer "well no but he was over here all autistic so I figured he should be on the ground'.

Cop saw an opportunity to physically dominate a child and exert his "authority." Parents should get a free punch on him.

This is my problem with cops.He didn't know what he was doing so he figured it had to be illegal

That was tough to watch. That cop was 100% clueless about Autism. I'm not an expert by any stretch, but damn.

As a parent of an autistic child who is 13 yrs. old now it scares the shite out of me.
It never occurred to me that when my son is having one if autistic moments it perceived to be high on drugs.

I thought the officer was finally getting it and the kid calmed down.
Then, of course, the cop had to say,
"So do you have anything on ya?"
For frick's sake, will you just get the frick off of him?

I thought that was handled pretty well overall by all involved.

Try watching that as the father of a son with autism.
It was obvious the cop was a jackass with no understanding of what he was dealing with. And with autism being common in today's world how can he not know "what that is" when he deals with the public everyday.
He immediately forces him to the ground and cuffs him while the boy is repeating "I'm okay, I'm okay" and shows that he doesn't understand what's going on.
Then the aunt keeps apologizing to the cop... WHY? Because the boy has special needs and the cop has no clue?
I hate to see what would have happened if the boy was non-verbal. Might have beat him with his stick yelling "answer me! answer me!"

You're such a fricking piece of shite and you've shown it throughout your history here.
If the thread title wasn't (mis)leading and all we had to go in was the video up until they were on the ground a few seconds, 9/10 here would be saying "that's a white boy on meth". My nephew has pretty severe autism and that was hard to watch, but not bc the cop did something wrong.

The cop was driving by a park where the kid was "stemming", which is apparently a coping mechanism for people with autism. The cop thought he was doing drugs, specifically an inhalant, and run up on him. The kid obviously got scared and tried to run and the cop took him down.
I am as back the blue as it gets, but this dip shite is a Grade A retard. As soon as the kid spoke you could tell he was autistic.
I'm sorry but what? The cop was professional in his actions, and didn't use any more force than was absolutely necessary.
Ever dealt with anyone on bath salts? I have , a cop isn't afforded the luxury of saying "okay this is an autistic kid no need to put him in cuffs"
Would have been different if the guy had used excessive force.

Because you fricking idiot, drugs cause many of the same types of behaviors. Ever see someone on bath salts, for example?

Having some experience with that, is your son often left unattended so a situation like in the video can even happen? I doubt it.

Pretty much. Cop probably had a bad day and wanted to take his aggression out on some Citizen. Saw a kid and a reason to start something and did it. POS cop for sure and in any normal line of work he'd be shitcanned immediately.
