Very glad they abandoned the Millerville Rd. plan...would have turned 12 into a clusterfrick.
Very glad that they were wise enough to abandon building a store in a location that is already an expanding clusterfrick exit in a 100 mile stretch of clusterfrick highway.

Welcome to civilization, Bama.

Some of you seem to be missing the boat when it comes to what separates Buc-cees from other gas stations and what creates success for Buc-cees.
Think of all the classic gas-station isms we all know and hate:
Disgusting / Flithy unkept restrooms
Stale / day old coffee
Not enough pumps
Shitty selection of snacks
Mouthbreather employees
etc etc etc
It takes all of those gas station isms and many more and flips them to the opposite end of the spectrum.
Bathrooms cleaner than my personal bathroom
Endless coffee options and additives
300 pumps and tons of parking
Endless snacks and reasonably priced. Even actual fresh and warm food
Helpful and reasonably smart employees who are paid well and given benefits
Etc etc etc
So yeah, I a Louisiana native and now a 10 year Texas resident, absolutely get the “Buc-cees phenomenon” In fact, I’d rather keep driving and piss in a water bottle, than stop at the gas stations along I10 in Louisiana because I’ve been spoiled by Buc-cees.
Is Buc-cees the only nice gas station in Texas, no of course not, but on average they are faaaar better than their competitors

It was tough when I was living in Houston and coming back to NOLA multiple times per year. We would usually tie a piss break into a meal stop because there weren't many clean gas stations at all to take a leak. When the Peto's in Roanoke opened, that was ok for a while, but eventually that became a dump as well.
I really think a location near the 10/49 interchange would kill it.

I filled up at the one in Baytown and it was pretty much the same as filling up at a Flying J. I didn't have a magical experience at Buc-ee's. Stuckey's is more fun if you're driving in the south.
I bet you didn't visit the shitters

There were rumors that Bucees was looking at the new La Ave exit (where the chicfila and Target is)
Right now, the only gas station there is a Race Trac that is currently under construction

I'm sure he didn't. Because he's full of shite if he thinks the Baytown Buc-ee's is just another gas station.

Seriously, why do gas stations in Louisiana always turn to shite after a month of being open? It’s a big problem. They are always disgusting and filthy after a very short period of being open.
Posted on 8/16/18 at 11:46 am to LSUneaux
Well that’s good. They’re known for clean bathrooms and the only reason I stop in Alabama is to take a shite on my way to Florida

12/10/59 interchange or the 12/55 interchange would work as well.
