BTR only had one active runway long enough for commercial flights because the other longer runway is under construction.

Probably an emergency landing ,and even if they land without incident they still do a FOD check (Foreign Objects Debris) on the runway in case something came off the aircraft or fluids came out. You don't want a jet engine to suck something in on the takeoff roll or hit something while landing.

We were flying back from Louisville yesterday and the pilot came back mid-flight and said we needed to land in Gonzales because of issue at BTR.
