Prove it. Show me the outrage from gay MS citizens that have been denied services because they were gay and couldn't get those services elsewhere.

How does showing you an outraged MS citizen prove they won/lost a fight. It has no bearing on our conversation.

Not only that but there is a reason this whole gay wedding cake thing us the prime example...because it happened. It doesn't have to be in MS for you to be completely wrong.

The market simply doesn't take care of the real problem. The real problem isn't "who is going to bake a cake for gay people." The real problem is that people have been told it is OK to act like we are still in the 1960s.

No, The real problem is do I have freedom of religion? Why does your "gay rights" trump my religious freedom? If my religion does not allow me to marry same sex couples why should I be forced to?

I received an alert from ticketmaster last month offering tickets at 2 for 1 for this show. He may be protesting, but the show may have been destined to be canceled due to low ticket sales anyway.

Because you chose to follow your shitty religion based on a book that tells us the Earth was created a few thousands years ago.

Nevertheless, even if you dont like my religion, do I still have 1st amendment right or not? Are you advocating abolishing the first amendment?

Negative. The real question is: can you use your religion to oppress other people?

The version of Islam practiced by ISIS condones slavery. I'm assuming you're not down for that (though on this board, you never know...).

If you would oppose ISIS on slavery, they could turn your arguments right back in your face.

I guess we differ on the definition of "oppress". I would say that forcing people into slavery is oppression. Not baking them a cake, not so much.

Well he's a fricking moron bc it doesn't deny anyone a civil right. It denies gays the ability to sue business owners who don't want to serve them in whatever capacity they choose to. Not an anti gay law. People are dumb as shite man. Religious freedom law. Who walks into a hardware store and declares to the entire store. Hey I'm gay. Like how would anyone know anyway. The outrage is baffling tbh

He's probably cancelling for other reasons. It's "African American spring break" this week on the coast.

I would love to take out the section of the 1st amendment that allows you discriminate and be protected for it.

Maybe even put an asterik on it for people like you.

Fair enough, but how and where do you draw a line? How much of your religion are you allowed to force on me before I'm being oppressed?

This issue doesn't even have to get to religious freedom. It begins and ends with the fact that if I own my own business I should be able to provide a product or service to whoever the frick I want, and at the same time deny service to whoever the frick I want for whatever reason I want.

You really have no idea what you are talking about, do you? The Bible says nothing of the such.

I would say that the US Constitution should be the line. If by not serving somebody I am actually denying them one of their Constitutional Rights then I should be forced to comply.

How?

Because it refuses to accept the fact that people see the world in different ways. Some people choose to view things in a more open-minded way while others close themselves off to only viewing things in the construct of their personal belief system. People are too diverse to dictate things in a one size fits all manner. This is the exact reason why the government seeks to protect minority groups.

Two separate opinions can be reached on a subject that is both just and moral, but for vastly different reasons. The problem with the current status of this country is that people are no longer willing to respect other people's opinions. Instead of trying to see something from another person's perspective, we simply attack and vilify them for their opinion or belief. Using labels like bigots or saying that these people "hate" a specific group. Opposition does not signify hate, but yet people are quick to throw the term around.

The bashing and fear mongering are sad and simple-minded, and it is done equally by people from every end of the political spectrum. Rational discussion is far too often abandoned, and we are left with watered down black or white choices on complex issues.

It's Bono's fault. Now they all have to stand for something.
