I believe aggravated battery is battery with a weapon, and the second degree portion means he either disfigured his face, broke a bone, or knocked him out. I may be wrong though.

That's too vague. Companies rarely fire for a misdemeanor fight. Drugs, theft, spousel abuse...

In the real world you would get fired for getting in a bar fight?

If they did, we wouldn't have enough plant operators or oil field workers...

This is true, but requirement to possess a job is not part of American law.
Companies will always fire someone for getting arrested like this. Companies are not required to keep any employee on staff, much less being required to pay them.
Too bad people who get arrested keep there jobs with pay in the real world all the time.

a police officer should be fired immediately if they get arrested...should be part of the rules.
In the last few years we had an NBA owner get forced to sell his team and a President of a university resign for not doing anything.

I'm pretty sure this is a felony charge.

Are you retarded, or do you only play one on Tigerdroppings?

2nd degree isn't with a weapon. It's extensive damage done. Felony. Won't stay a felony though. Rarely does.
Posted on 1/4/16 at 1:02 pm to LSUTANGERINE
Even fists used to disfigure someone is a serious charge. Felony, I believe.

It's aggravated 2nd degree battery. It was with a "deadly weapon", but you're right it probably won't stay a felony. I've seen worse offenses plead down to misdemeanor.

Well that makes 2 of us then.

They want the same pay, yet they are rarely fired, regardless of incompetence, and have a defined benefits plan/pension.

apparently you didn't get the memo - cops are held to a "higher standard".

I am always a cop defender...figured I would change it up today

I have good information that this case is about to hit the fan on the part of the arresting officer.

Not saying he didn't. But were did you get this? Link for more info please?
Aggravated second degree battery is with use of a dangerous weapon when the offender intentionally inflicts serious bodily injury.
Can be knocked unconscious, extreme physical pain or obvious disfigurement.
