As much as I like some of the people here in Louisiana, and have my roots planted here, Baton Rouge is getting harder and harder to stay in love with the city.

The future doesn’t look bright when you have blight, crime and, Mayor Doom for the foreseeable future. And that’s just touching the surface.

The only thing keeping me here is family. When they go, I'll likely leave.

Ditto. But they seem like they will never die.

We have two girls and while I would absolutely love if they stayed close to us when they get older, I won’t be disappointed (I will be sad) if they decide to go elsewhere.

I’m hopeful that we can follow them wherever they decide to go (outside of state), if that should happen.

I have some family still here but not that much anymore and my wife is from out of state. Very little keeping us here at this point. Sad to see how much crime has increased in the past few years.

The increase in crime isn’t isolated to. BR. I was talking to my cousin today. He showed up at his business this morning to find all the catalytic converters had been cut from his fleet of delivery trucks. He tells me they recently hit the Kia dealership in LC as well.

Of course not, but the trajectory of BR and it’s crime is egregious and has been going in the wrong direction for years now.

A sentiment shared by a lot of Baton Rouge residents. It’s really sad, because it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s just being run into the ground.

And previously decent areas have been declining. I wish nothing but the best for BR but it's not trending well if we are being honest.

Because dope fiends stealing car parts is in the same category as people getting shot to death
