Probably won’t be much considering our local media doesn’t seem capable of bringing the pressure and most of us who care about the dysfunction are no longer surprised by the corruption and malfeasance..

Honestly. We have officers running an off site interrogation warehouse where god knows what really went down and it’s already a dead story with our local news.

We have documented favors and malfeasance within the brass that goes unchecked and millions being paid out in settlements and zero trust and accountability..

The local media relentlessly goes after a cop in Hammond or a public servant in St Helena, but they hardly cover EBR. There are exceptions, but yes they don’t follow up and get to the bottom of things.

For example the Brave Cave, the Stormwater debacle, Broome getting removed from the SG trial, and on and on. They don’t dig into the homeless issues, the collapse of BRPD or the poor trash pickup neighborhoods get now.

There are some really great dudes that work for BRPD. It’s a shame that the shitheads at the top tarnish the reputation of the mostly outstanding men and women that work on the force.

Almost like it was being done on purpose

brpd should be liquidated and have an auction to sell off the equipment.

At this point appointing Barney Fife as chief would be an amazing improvement .

Also, there is allegedly "something big" coming tomorrow related to the department.
Aren’t the feds investigating them allegedly using a warehouse as a beat down cave?

My money’s on that being the “something big”

Have they ever figured out who owns the warehouse, or who is paying the rent if it isn't owned by BRPD?

BATON ROUGE - Troy Lawrence Sr., a BRPD deputy chief whose police officer son was arrested last week after it was revealed he tased a handcuffed suspect, has been placed on administrative leave as the department faces a federal investigation over alleged police misconduct.

The WBRZ Investigative Unit learned Wednesday morning that Lawrence Sr. was put on leave as the department continues to investigate the actions of the Street Crimes unit. The unit was scuttled last month as the department started looking into claims of excessive force tied to Street Crimes' use of a makeshift interrogation site known as the "Brave Cave."

Multiple lawsuits allege that arrestees were physically abused and unlawfully strip-searched inside the crude facility, which appeared to be little more than an empty warehouse.

Troy Lawrence Sr. —who's been with the department more than 25 years — was previously commander of the Street Crimes unit, formerly known as the BRAVE unit.

Well, now we know where the BRAVE Cave term originated.

Project BRAVE has been designed to reduce and eliminate violent crime being committed by 190 juveniles in a small criminal "hot spot" in Baton Rouge, LA. The National Network of Safe Communities' Group Violence Reduction Strategy (GVRS) model will be implemented under the auspices of the Mayor and District Attorney to target youth ages 14-17 in zip code 70805, which has a violent crime rate 25 times the national average.

BRAVE was put in place by Mayor Holden.
Mayor Broome shut it down and exposed s lot of their informants. The gangs have ruled the streets ever since. Murders sky rocketed as we all know.
