Do you at least admit the stereotype is there for a reason?

so far.............within the last few years.........every black that got shot and died at the hands of police officers (on national tv) have had a rap sheet. I'm patiently waiting on the one that doesn't. not sure if i'll ever see one get shot who is totally clean. but.........who knows. maybe that's the stereotype that you speak of.

This is why it's hard to take you and people like you seriously.

The odds of craps and the odds of getting killed by a police officer are nearly identical? That seems to be your drama queen suggestion.

Why is it that the vast majority of blacks take their speeding ticket and go about their day just like everyone else?

Why is it that anyone that resists arrests is more likely to suffer injuries or end up dead than those that do not resist?

You are making this way to complicated.

I am by no means a fan of a police state, but

Lack of critical thinking skills / situational awareness applies to both Mr Sterling (kept it real and it cost him his life) and now his supporters...

quote:

rac·ism 'ra?siz?m/ noun the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

It boggles my mind that a large percentage of folks are "knighting" Mr Sterling. At first glance, it strikes me as odd that a man with his actions/ record garner so much sympathy. I lose very sleep for Caucasian meth addicts who play games with LEO and are taken off the planet fulfilling Darwinian principles.

At second glance, it makes me sad that the black community supports people like this (blindly, based solely on the color of his skin and not his character). Sadly, the stats presented in these threads likely provide the explanation, the behavior is widespread and embraced/glorified in many aspects of their "culture"

When skin color trumps reasoned thoughts/actions = racism

It is when you're not complying with the orders of the police. That statement is exactly what is wrong with all of this and it's plain foolish and stupid.

If ANYONE thinks that "standing your ground" with the police is ok then you get exactly what you deserve and what they do to you.

So we should never question the people with authority? Or are they always right in yalls mind? Cops are always right because they took a 6 month training to get a gun and badge.

I drove down government last night around 8 trying to get to the interstate not knowing the protest was going on. Ran right in to it. A couple things I noticed.

Police outnumbered protestors at that time I'd say 3-1.
Had Gov blocked right before the interstate to prevent them from getting on the ramp.
These cops are tired. I talked to a few and thanked them for there service. They're thankful for the support.
A lot of SJW white privilege types causing problems. Saw two young girls getting arrested. I'm sure their dads are proud.
Police were awesome in giving me detour routes, since a lot was blocked off.

BRPD and State Police have done a phenomenal job with this entire thing. Hopefully these people get tired and quit this shite soon enough.

As a society, we charge cops with the duty of arresting people who they believe are committing a crime. We expect everyone to respect that position of authority and not to challenge or resist it when in the potentially volatile situation of an arrest. We know that cops are not always going to correctly identify when a crime has been committed and they will sometimes wrongly arrest. Those situations will be corrected in court. The problem arises when people think they can litigate their differences with the cop at the moment of arrest.
