I'm sure this will get some downvotes but whatever...hopefully this can help some of you out.

There's a senator I follow on social media that got this broadband relief pushed into the recovery act. If you qualify, you get $50/mo off your monthly broadband bill and a one-time $100 credit toward a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer.

Relatively lax qualification from the looks of it....job loss/furlough due to COVID (under 200k family income in 2020), if you're on medicaid, qualify for free lunch program, SNAP, or veterans survivors pension, Pell grant.

I don't know, thought it was worth sharing if it could help you or someone you know out. The money to pay for this program is already law so it's not like its being paid for by service fees through providers. I know we're all OT rich and don't qualify, but please pass along to someone who may.

Get Emergency Broadband

You 100% should have created an alter and posted this as your first post on the Poli Board. The melt down over Government Bots would have been epic.

I believe that you have to earn less than 135% of the level of poverty to qualify. There is a table that shows the poverty level and adjustments depending on family size up to 8 people.

It’s through the FCC and called something like Emergency Broadband Access fund; I’m too tired to help more than that at the moment.

Does this mean if your school received the free lunch program because of covid you qualify? Didn't every school in the country qualify?
