You seem bitter.. if this situation hits close to home for you, I'm truly sorry, but the top of the steering wheel is even with her forehead

Have another drink. Maybe it gets better as the night goes on.

wow, I hate seeing that. The safety made it harder to get her out. I wonder if they tried to cut her out. A good reason to always have a knife. But I am sure they tried everything. Hopefully she makes a full recovery.

Safety netting is worthless. It creates more hazards ans barriers to escape than provides any protection

My 8 yo daughter is begging for a side by side. She wants to have one like dad. We discussed this same scenario yesterday evening after she also overcorrected and put her 4 wheeler into a catfish pond. It was shallow enough she didn't have to swim. But it scared the shite out of her. This is the exact reason I didn't want her to have one. We have a 1 acre pond in our yard at home and the property my husband hunts where she likes to ride in off season is a lot of crawfish ponds or old catfish ponds. Super dangerous in a side by side. I believe the baby Polaris rangers have 5 PT harnesses, a roll cage and netting. Submerged or flipped over in water is disaster. My daughter can keep her honda 90 with the governor. No thanks! Prayers for this family. As parents we think we are strapping them in and being as protective as possible, but freak accidents happen.

Had a dad bring home in a 6 year old into the ER I was working. Head crushed, basically decapitated at the ear level, very emotional still listening at the dad scream, as he was beyond dead on sight. Kept screaming fix him! Gruesome! Dad had bought him a go- cart for his Birthday, and just him and his son left a party at his Grandparents to go back to their home and ride it for the first time. Yard was small surrounded by cyclone fence, and no robar, and no helmet. Kid was just to drive it in small circles around his dad, but lost control and panicked and hit the gas. He hit the fence at a decent speed to pop the top wires holding the fencing to the posts. It ramped him into the top post. None of mine ride anything till > 16, but to each their own.

We always had to be careful up north because certain people were known to put wire and shite on snowmobile trails.

I lived in some apartments that had a Church behind it right after college. Behind the Church was a big tract of undeveloped land that was pretty much forest. Had some friends that lived in a neighborhood behind the forest that made dirt bike trails through the forest.

Some rednecks in the area discovered the trails and of course being rednecks started having fires and drinking back there. The church apparently didn't like that, so I believe they strung a wire that was covered in clear plastic across the entrance trail on my side/church side of the forest because that is where the rednecks would enter from as well. I rarely used that entrance and we didn't make much noise or issue back there, only back there during the day and made sure to stay out when the church was in service. That entrance was the easiest access to a redneck fire area where they would trash the place.

Luckily that day, I took my extended forks/extended swingarm dirt CRF50 and wore a helmet. Wire took me off the bike at almost full speed. It hit me about 2 inches below the neck and I hit the ground hard with the back of my head. Got a pretty good concussion and several stitches on my arms from hitting the asphalt. shite probably looked like something out of a cartoon when I got clotheslined. If I had been on my stock size CRF50, it probably would of killed me by hitting my neck and collapsing my windpipe.

I got a lawyer and started looking into it. It was pretty obvious the church did it, but the land I was trespassing on was owned by a pretty big land baron in Knoxville. We think the church had tapes of it, because the land owner installed a big no trespassing sign and gate a few days after my accident. From what he found, he didn't think the case looked like an easy win. I agreed and we just dropped it because I had almost no money into it (had good health insurance) and had some other things going on that made it not worth the fight.

Still pisses me off, but I got some revenge later on, on that cult church.
