The Pike County Sheriff actually posted this on FB:

quote:

The Pike County Sheriff's Office has responded to several Heroin overdoses over the weekend. In an effort to educate and protect the public, we are now offering free testing of your Heroin. When Heroin is not cut (diluted) correctly, citizens become ill or die. Because of the potency of Heroin it must me reduced down according to Manufacturing Recommendations. With the advancement in testing, the Sheriff's Office can now test Heroin on site at your convenience. Also we want to educate your supplier (salesman) and would love for you to supply us with his/her name and number. If you have their address, we would love to drop off some reading materials and test kits for them as well. So if you are worried that your Heroin is tainted, please stop by 2109 Jessie Hall Memorial Rd., Magnolia, Ms 39652 or call 601-783-2323 and we will test and educate you on Heroin. Please tell all your friends.

McComb is in Pike County.

Doing this could actually save lives.

Instead it will just put more people in jail and keep the lawyers, LEO, judges, CO's, prison consultants, etc in business for longer.

Why is drug addiction treated as a criminal and not medical issue?

Oh yeah, $$$$$$.

LaSalle Parish did this sometime last year.. Of course, it was about getting your meth tested.

It's a pity the state has turned law enforcement into tax collectors.
