This is hilarious, being a member of any military branch is pretty far down on the list of my preferred occupations.

If there was an attorney at the wedding handing out business cards to everyone he met, I’d think that was douchey too. This is practically the same thing.

Your post tells me all I need to know.

Fellow Belleau Woodsman, you're going a bit crazy. You're a Marine yabbering on a message board, that most won't understand your love, but it's not the right way to do it.

The chick is a count, but it is her day. Imagine if some boot douche came to your wedding and acted like a typical Marine.

Defend on, but IMO you're not helping your argument. Another thing to note, he wasn't in the ceremony and he was wearing medals - per the video in the link - which means he's not obeying MCO 1020.34h

If the object is to be a chick magnet, this is how I'm going to the next wedding

So you had to join the military to feel like a real man? Thats sad

Is that why you feel the need to join a motorcycle group and ride a motorcycle on the weekends?

Meh, the most manly military man that I know wears formal military attire to military events, and civilian formal attire to civilian formal events. You also wouldn’t know he recently retired from the military unless you asked him specifically, or someone told you.

Look bro I get it, you’re threatened by me because I’m an awesome Marine Pilot guy. No need to be though. I don’t look down on you because you’re not nearly as interesting as me.

It’s drawing attention and practically bragging about your profession.

ETA: I also think it’s douchey when doctors want to be referred to as “doctor” in a non professional setting, and JDs put esquire after their name. So I’m not just picking on military folks.

It was the queen’s ball or something. Not the night of the parade. It was a fancy black tie event.

Was it at the Hilton on the River and are you a sergeant major? I spotted one in the wild while they were getting ready for some kind of ball there a few years back and it was Endymion. It was hard to miss the dress blues, ESPECIALLY if you know insignia and spot 3 up 4 down with a star in the middle.

Was that you?

Wrong, kid. I didn’t join the army to be a man, I joined the army because I was ready to be a man. One day, maybe you’ll be a man and you’ll understand. But for now, I know, as a child, you can’t understand it.

Now I know I’ve got you bothered and full blown triggered.

No This was like in 2002 and I think I was a second award PFC at the time.
