The fact that people are trying to sell mid-city as some desirable place to live makes me laugh.
Mid City sells itself. It's a great place to live & work.

City is about to make it a two lane road and extra lanes for bikes. Hope robbers will be using bikes because the traffic will be at a stand still. Gonna be great.

Yep. They are building some kind of shopping place for stores and what not in the 4600 block. It's called Square 46 NO business will do well there.

Square 46 mixed-use development on Government Street in Mid City.
Political and civic leaders are invited to the groundbreaking ceremony, which kicks off at 10:30 a.m. at 4646 Government St.
Architect Josh Hoffpauir, with Hoffpauir Studios, is developing Square 46 and says construction is expected to take about nine to 10 months. He is eyeing a spring 2017 opening.
The 25,000-square-foot Square 46 development will sit on the site of the old Giamanco’s restaurant and will contain commercial, office and residential space. The project was announced in November 2014, but Hoffpauir held off construction on the project while waiting to see plans for the Government Street “road diet” to make sure it did not adversely affect his plans.

Ground actually been broke already and building is underway.
Gubment Street is the pits and I really don't think this will help, especially since is directly across the street from the city's largest mental health and substance abuse treatment center.

It's one lane each direction plus a center turning lane. And the stretch between Foster and Jefferson will actually remain 4 lanes.

Not sure it's ever gonna happen. For years they've been saying "next year".
Problem is they can't figure out to do with the city busses. They can't stop on the street and you'd have to do cutouts out of private businesses to do otherwise.

Tuesday's Gone

And there isn't a drug treatment center on Caddo.
Yes, there is. St. Christopher's owns about 6 houses on Caddo. There's no signs but they share a backyard are all conjoined by gravel walkways.

Good. Obviously these people never use Government because several times a day it's backed up at Foster. At one point they said the two lanes would run to Lobdell.

You're not too good at geography, are you?
On one side of government st is mid-city overpriced homes. On the other side of government is the blocks between north Blvd and then Florida Blvd. The same people who love mid city so much would never dream of living between government and Florida Blvd. It's not that complicated.

Not one person has responded to the question posed in op's question. No I wasn't there.

Bernard Terrace, Ogden Park, and those people in E'Tage in Goodwood North hate Mid-City, I suppose.

I live between Govt and Florida. You're an idiot. Bernard Terrace, Ogden Park, and Old Goodwood are all great places to live.

Me neither. If I was a neighbor, I would be selling smack, junk, coke, and weed. Would probably be a goldmine.

Those places aren't across from mid city. Those are down past Jefferson. Across from mid city is north Blvd by brcc, and BR General. Still too close to the hood for me.

I know the homes you're talking about. There's only three of them and it isn't a drug treatment center. St. Christopher's may own them, but they aren't dropping herion addicts fresh off a 12 day bender in there.

Not a troll. Why would you want to pay 200$/sq ft for a home across the street from a ghetto.
It doesn't flood

Mid-City, by definition actually extends north of Florida Blvd., brosef. And encompasses all three neighborhoods he referenced. Two of which being south of that North Blvd area you mentioned.

They are on the backside too. And yes, it's a long term treatment center where plenty of heroin addicts stay. It's called the Recovery Home program where they send addicts from their 30 day program to there for longer. It is a drug treatment facility. It's a very good program, but I still wouldn't want to live next door.
