I am selling a townhouse at the Independence Park side of Old Goodwood, between Government and Florida. Didn't flood, great neighborhood to one side, north of Florida (Mall City) is another. My neighbor asked my ex-roomie what demographic the purchaser was. Was shocked to find out she is a Caucasian LSU grad. I thought it may be too close to an undesirable neighborhood, although, for me it was quiet and nice. $750K homes within a mile. The ghetto also within a mile. You never know. I grew up on Evangeline, 70805, near Tony's Seafood, so anything is nicer.

Because they are a haven for every derelict and addict. Guaranteed to cause a crime wave in whatever neighborhood they are embedded in. You wouldn't believe the amount of calls for service we get at these halfway houses and "rehab" centers.

Here's the wonderful thing about BR. They have an Open Data system that allows you in nearly real time to see any police report filed.
In the block with this recovery center, there have been 4 reports filed in the last 4 years.

One of the main reasons I did not move back into my apartment after the flood was because there was a sign for an urgent care clinic coming soon at the front of the property.
I don't want to live close to a "clinic" or "facility"
