Eric brought kevin Nash and razor Ramon over and hooked them up with hulk hogan to form NWO. That was big for wcw at the time.

It was arguably the biggest angle in wrestling history although Austin vs McMahon was very close.

At that exact moment in time, Bret was arguably correct.

The only other names really in the discussion would be Sting, Shawn, and Austin.

Of those, Austin’s neck was fricked and he was just starting to recover from the injury while Shawn’s body was falling apart and his drug habit made him erratic and fairly unreliable.

Sting, OTOH, crashed back down to Earth the next month at Starrcade due to boneheaded booking.

Bobby Eaton was a great worker but at least part of him succeeding in spite of that was him being teamed up with Cornette and either Dennis Condrey or Stan Lane.

Cornette, Condrey, and Lane are all the kinds of personalities that would fight for what they wanted.

Vince attempted to sue WCW because Hall and Nash before Bash at the Beach used phrases like "you know who we are" to allude to Razor and Diesel. shite, Hall still used the Razor accent.

The angle was undeniably an industry changer. However, if you want to say Bret was boring and didn't sell. Diesel's WWF world title reign was a failure as well.

I liked Hart for that.

You’re right - Eaton was always stuck in a tag team - wasn’t til 91 that he was finally given a singles push with the TV title. After that he went right back to teaming with Dangerous Alliance, Keirn, and Regal

Diesel's first match as WWF champion was a draw. Nash still laughs at that horrible booking.

For me personally, Bret Hart never drew a dime. Guy was as dull as dull can be.

A bright leotard and throwaway sunglasses don't make him any less dull.

Bret was a great wrestler and could carry anyone to a good match and had a passion for the business that was unmatched. He just took himself way to seriously. Like Nash said, he was his own biggest mark...

Counter argument. Nash didn't take things seriously enough.

This.

Wcw didn't give him any good storylines but Bret also didn't get himself over.

Nash also sat on the last year of his Time Warner contract and sat out whereas Booker T opted out and probably made more than Nash ever has.

Steve didn’t need to be a technician as stone cold

He did plenty of it as the ringmaster or stunning Steve

Bret didn’t get over until his profane tirade on RAW, and his anti-American heel character caught fire. He was lame as a face.

Bret was made world champ because of the steroid scandal. That's why Warrior got fired the first time.
