The remarkable thing about this story is that the dogs killed the right person. This is different than the typical story about the dogs attacking a kid, or a neighbor’s dog, or the lady that lives in the apartment down the hall or ….

They can be. Ambulls are should not be owned by just anyone. They were base stock for most fighting breeds including pit bulls. They are a large, strong and dominate breed which makes for a very dangerous animal if raised by the wrong person.
When I was younger, and still lived in Louisiana, I had two. A large male used for hogging and a female with a more passive personality as a house dog. Even though she was more passive, she was still considered dangerous to strangers. Both dogs seemed to adore children however.
