Her carry-on probably had all sorts of things for the baby. Diapers, changing pad, burp cloth, a change of clothes, wet wipes, cleaning wipes for the pump, pacifier, etc.

Ohh, I was under the impression that the baby stuff would be in that really large purse in her photo. And that the carry on was a rolling back with actual clothes (her own).

Mainly because opening a rolling back doesn't seem convenient or doable on a plane.

But why struggle with an infant, both of those items, PLUS a carry-on (which I assume was a roller bag?). What a pain in the arse for her to have to deal with.

Of course, I blame airlines for this. Stop charging people to check their luggage. You're literally encouraging non-business travelers to carry their shite on, which causes your gate agents to beg them all to courtesy check them.

fricking This!
We've done it where we carry on with all the baby shite and a stroller. It's a pain in the arse and I'd rather pay to check a bag, but frick airlines for pocketing $6 billion in bag fees even though the price of gas (reason they say bag fees started) dropped back down.

Airlines aren't going to let go of that money once they start getting it.

Look. I love breast feeding. Id suckle titties in public if I could. But just because it is natural doesn't make it okay for public viewing. Urine is natural. We have strands for disposal and storage of it.
well this has nothing to do with anything, but thanks for your opinion.

She wasn't breastfeeding on the plane. That's why she had the bag full of milk.

I was behind a couple with a toddler and an infant last week, and I watched them struggle keeping the toddler from running off, keeping the infant from crying, and trying to wrangle all their stuff. It looked miserable. They [understandably] checked everything they could. Airlines should be encouraging this and get rid of the bag fees.

I'm not anti carry-on, but I think it was designed for a specific type of traveler. There's a huge difference between the business traveler with his rolling bag and personal item that fits on the handle .. vs. the family of 4 where each person in the pack has a rolling bag, a duffel bag (apparently this counts as a personal item?) or large backpack, and they each have their BED PILLOWS.

Get rid of the bag fees and encourage vacationing families to just pack normal suitcases that fit their stuff and can be checked.

They did it to themselves. Like you said, they checked everything they could yet still were struggling.

You either don't vacation, drive, or leave the kids behind.

This is stupid. Urine is waste that your body is disposing of. Breast milk is food.

I can't see the picture, shite must be blocked, but I do know how much has to be packed for an infant, and it's a lot. I don't plan on flying with our little dude for a while.

I don't even want to think of all the crap we'll have to bring when my wife and I fly with him.

Why do people with kids or medical conditions think they deserve free shite? I have 2 kids breast fed until 12-13 months and a 3rd on the way. We fly a couple times a year.

We pack the breast pump and all the other shite for them in our carry on. My wife brings a purse and I bring a small back pack or briefcase that easily fits under the seat. If you need more space, you can pay for it. If you need 2 seats cause you are fat, you should pay for it.

If not for bag fees, airlines will charge you more elsewhere. I like bag fees, if I don't need a damn bag I don't pay for it. If someone else does, they pay for it. Keeps costs down and charges everyone for what they need.

Some people have to travel with a baby. It happens probably everyday. I'm sure it's hard but it gets done.

Why the frick would you pay for it if the airline has a policy stating that coolers for breast milk, diaper bags, and medical devices don't count toward your allotted bag limit?

No, you can bring more for free. It's in the policy.
