I’m guessing when you fly you put all your shite in one carryon...that exceeds the size limits.

I fly Netjets. No bag issues.. But when I did fly commercial, I checked my bags. Carried on my phone and maybe a binder at most. Usually just the phone and something to read.

So in other words, you didn't have a child you had to possibly feed on the plane. Gotcha.

How long is the flight? why would she need a breast pump if she had a cooler with breast milk? she going to be pumping mid flight?

Well factor in the ride to the airport, time checking in/waiting for the flight, flight time, waiting for luggage if she had checked it. She may have been on a schedule where she was pumping every 3 hours.

Even if she had her child with her, she may not breast feed and might exclusively pump.

Lady follow rules. Gate agent doesn't know the rules of the airline they work for and calls out lady, wrongfully. Lady is a dumb bitch that needs to learn how to pack.

Never change OT.

In that case do you have any parenting advice you'd like to throw out there as well?

It's quite comical to see the reactions on both sides of this "argument". It doesn't affect any of our lives.

Meh. In this case there is a rational side and a "I didn't read and don't know what I'm talking about" side.

But there's no argument. She followed policy and the gate agent was an idiot.

Everyone saying she should've done this and that are idiots. She followed the rules plain and simple.

I agree with you but there is arguing going on. Doesn't matter, should've been handled differently by the agent.

Because people keep coming in without a clue to the actual details and policies and spew nonsense about what she should've done and how entitled she is.

There isn't a legitimate argument from any of those people.

To be fair, I don't really see why people traveling in this capacity don't check their luggage-luggage. It says she had a personal item (purse) and breast milk, which entirely make sense. But why struggle with an infant, both of those items, PLUS a carry-on (which I assume was a roller bag?). What a pain in the arse for her to have to deal with.

Of course, I blame airlines for this. Stop charging people to check their luggage. You're literally encouraging non-business travelers to carry their shite on, which causes your gate agents to beg them all to courtesy check them.

If they stopped charging to check bags, the only people carrying them on would be solo/business travelers who are in more of a hurry.

Her carry-on probably had all sorts of things for the baby. Diapers, changing pad, burp cloth, a change of clothes, wet wipes, cleaning wipes for the pump, pacifier, etc.

If not, she could have brought yet another item on board and still been within policy.

Look. I love breast feeding. Id suckle titties in public if I could. But just because it is natural doesn't make it okay for public viewing. Urine is natural. We have strands for disposal and storage of it.

Don't want it lost.
Don't want to pay $50 round trip to check one bag.
Need items in the bag.

Tons of reasons.

Agreed. They disincentivized checking bags, but they're making $50 a pop on a round trip flight so they won't change. I mean, now we're at the point where if you get the cheapest flight option, you have to pay for overhead bin access.
