It sounds like the business attracts some of the less desirable patrons due to it's lax security and business model. I can understand wanting something done about it.

This happened in a suburb and a decently nice one at that. I would guess most of those pushing to get it closed are actual residents of the town.
The person claiming racism for closing it and pushing to get it remodeled with "security improvements" isn't from there - she's from the city itself.

I think people wanting the business to close has more to do with this place of business apparently having a pattern of problems over a longer period of time. From the article:

We have a chucky cheese near us, it's a shite hole. the inner city dwellers have taken over and ruined it for all. 2 shootings at the place in past 2 years. And this is in the Burbs.
