True statement. It poses no threat unless it enters via the nasal passages and penetrates the cribiform plate.

Naegleria fowleri is the amoeba.

Scruffy has not heard about any cases involving ingestion. It is already very rare though.

My wife was diagnosed with acanthamoeba keratitis yesterday. We had to order the medicine from New Zealand since the US doesn't make it. It is an amoeba in her cornea. This shite is scary.
