BR water online payment question?

I had to call the water company on Monday and made a payment over the phone. (I had limited internet access where I was at)


I just tried to log into the smart pay to see what the remaining amount is and it’s giving me this message.

“No payment is allowed. Please contact the Baton Rouge Water Company at 225-925-2011.”


Any reason behind this?

Br water is annoying to deal with

Call Monday morning when they open and just go straight for a real person. Don’t try the auto route. Tell them u were getting that message to so they can reset ur account.

I hate dealing with that company.

I payed the past due amt + a little more on the bill.

I just wanted to log on and see what the remaining balance was so I can knock it out. I’m not in a disconnect notice.

If you pay more than is due, you can’t make another payment. Which is retarded. Had a buddy who worked overseas for extended periods, he called and wanted to pay $2,000 just so there would be a balance on his account to cover for the next 18 months. BR Water wouldn’t take the money. He kept telling them that “the essence of business is taking a customers money, take my money” but they kept refusing.

That's why you're getting a notice not to pay more on your account. You have a credit balance.

BR water has the most outdated payment system.

If they wont let you pay online then you're scheduled for disconnect

I have this issue pretty much every month. For the past 6 months I've been trying to have them set up an auto-draft on my account and they "assure me" that it will take place the following month. Needless to say that I go past-due and get locked out of my account each month. So I understand your struggle. If I had the option to drop BR Water, I would.
