They went through my truck about a month ago. Left my truck unlocked but still, frick them. Put some night security around these areas or something. People pay way too much money to be having to deal with this bullshite as much as they do. I love Southdowns, but man I can’t wait to move away.

Gated neighborhoods and one entrance/one exit neighborhoods are a solution to this.
I see your point. The problem is that these types of closed off neighborhoods are counter-productive to reducing traffic on surface streets. It's the opposite of smart growth.

Yep, they're a big part of the reason traffic in Baton Rouge will take forever to solve.

BRPD is undermanned and the bad guys know it. So is the sheriff.
They're undermanned, but they also get tied up all night long breaking up domestic situation with loser adults who cannot control their emotions. If people could not act like children, our officers could do real police work.

A vehicle should be an extension of your home. If some one breaks into your vehicle, you should be able to shoot them.

Not in most circumstances. You have to have an immediate threat of physical harm. If you went out and confronted them and they pulled a gun on you or shot at you, then yes, you could shoot them.

Crime in Lafayette is no where near as bad as BR. Not sure how anyone could really assert that unless they define the north side as Lafayette

Soon I will have a pack of German shepherds with their voice boxes removed.

I didn't say anything about overall crime. That article was for metro areas and published in 2018. It used FBI crime statistics and the Lafayette metro had the 13th highest burglary rate in the US (BR is 8th).
People that burglarize cars and houses don't generally target poor neighborhoods.

I'm guessing they probably aren't involved in their children's lives anyway. You are probably good but don't go to prison over car seats baw

In Lafayette, the "good neighborhoods are not being targeted. If you look at a crime map of Lafayette, you can easily tell where the crime is occurring.

If they can't easily sell it, spend it, or shoot it, you're good.
Nobody breaking into cars is buddies with people buying black market car seats.

Exactly. Also, BR has a mayor and several "community activists" who are basically thug huggers, and have done a lot to neutralize the power of local law enforcement.

And don't forget the judge who hands out get out of jail free cards.
